Walking on shopping street without any plan to buy, a nice thing attracts my attention and I want it by all means.
But the desire to want by all means is my real honest desire?
I don't have enough money to buy everything that I want to buy, so I give up buying them. But may I buy those I want to,if I have enough money.
In that case of wanting them by all menas , the desire indipendently occupies of me . The desire alone exists without matching the real world.
But in Buddhism in case that I want something, ‘act that Ishould do now’ is more inportant than the desire. The degree of desire is according to the necessity of act.
In the showroom of house there is no end to such a desire to live such a gorgeous house. But in acts of daily life ,making and eating breakfast,cleaning rooms , washing our clothes,working, taking a bath, sleeping are the gorgeous house necessary? I think the gorgeous is not necessary in order to act smoothly our daily work. The moderate is enough. To act smoothly our daily work we need sound mind and body more than gorgeous house.
Such words are written in 「Sho-bo-gen-zo chapter of Arakan」.
The accomplished monk pursues balanced daily life in which they are satistfied with breakfast
and lunch.
The desire without satisfied and balanced daily life is not true.
